New data from the 2021 Census were released today. An updated version of the Census Profile is available for download from the Statistics Canada website, including data on Age, Sex at birth and Gender, as well as on Type of Dwelling and Household Size. New for the 2021 Census: StatCan is using Gender and not Sex at birth to disaggregate Male and Female population counts (designated as Male+ and Female+).
The Community Data Program team is creating a Tableau dashboard based on this release, which will be available in the catalogue soon. The 2021 Census Population Dashboard, based on the previous 2021 Census data release, is available now.
